A Story That Comes From Afar and Has Its Roots in the Early 1900s, when grandfather Raffaele discovered his passion for viticulture, walking among the rows of his vineyards in the Vesuvius region, savoring the delight of connecting with nature. This passion led to the first experiments in winemaking, in the cellar of an eighteenth-century farmhouse owned by the family, whose remains are still clearly visible in the Pompeian estate of Bosco de’ Medici.
In that place, just a stone’s throw from the ancient ruins of archaeological Pompeii, Raffaele and his lifelong companion, Emiddia, discovered how complex the processes leading to the birth of a wine truly are. These were the years when the Hotel Diana was founded – in the heart of Pompeii – along with the equestrian school, which three decades later would become the Bosco de’ Medici estate.

A story

In 1996, the Agricultural Company was founded, and in 2014, the desire to honor Raffaele’s passion inspired his grandchildren, Emiddia, Sonia, Lella, and Giuseppe, to establish the Winery and begin producing wines under the Bosco de’ Medici brand.
Today, the Winery is the jewel of the corporate group, a place inspired by the passion for viticulture and wine, a place that, as Raffaele intended, evokes the noble “art” of Roman otium.
